Venues

Our Festival Hub is the newly-restored Continental Hotel, with many of our guests staying next door at the InterContinental Hotel. The Sorrento Writers Festival is grateful for this extraordinary sponsorship gift and we cannot wait to introduce our world-class Sorrento venue to Festival visitors.

The Continental has been the most famous landmark of Victoria’s sought-after seaside town of Sorrento since 1875. Retaining the beloved heritage character, the icon has been reimagined as a lifestyle precinct that brings a piece of luxury to everyone with a highly curated collection of experiences. The Continental is one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most sought-after event destinations with incredible corporate event spaces transporting you to a world of luxury.

Sorrento Writers Festival will hold events in three incredible event spaces at The Continental:

Founded in 1919, we have a long tradition as a local hub for celebrations, commemorations and community support.

We are home to the renowned Tom Katz live music venue as well as the fabulous Sorrento Thai Restaurant and we are very excited to welcome The Kitchen Sorrento also, just in time for summer.

Like Sorrento and Portsea, Jack’s Bar & Lounge and The Terrace are cool in summer and warm in winter and are great spaces for an event or a casual drink with friends in a relaxed environment.

Sorrento Portsea RSL is proudly community-based, volunteer-run and not for profit. There are no gaming machines – our club is fully supported by the hard work of our people and the generosity of our members and visitors.
