The Sorrento Writers Festival is Victoria’s biggest literary festival. In 2024, more than 5000 visitors heard 190 speakers tackle a raft of issues – from democracy to leadership and partisan politics, to cookbooks, gardening, sport, and understanding the creative writing process.

In 2025 we will present again an exciting and bold program featuring some of Australia’s most respected writers, community leaders, academics and journalists. None of this can be achieved without the support and encouragement of the community we serve. Please support us through donating and partnering to support our mission to bring writers and readers together in a safe and respectful space in which to have meaningful conversations, exchange ideas and spark important conversations

Why Donate

In April 2025 we aim to bring 130+ writers, poets, academics, historians, journalists, community leaders, artists, musicians and children’s authors to Sorrento.
Our accommodation and travel costs are huge; so, too, the execution of a bold and interesting program which will present more than 100 events to our beautiful coastal township.
The Sorrento Writers Festival welcomes private individuals and families and organisations who would like to give so we can achieve our goals.

We thank those who have pledged their financial support for 2025 and beyond via our three-year pledge scheme, and we invite everyone to join our donors and supporters community.

Private Donors: The Sorrento Writers Festival has DGR status, and is registered with the ACNC (Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission). Donations are made directly to us, through our CRM platform ArtFuel.
