Multi award-winning author Kate Grenville joins journalist and Sorrento Writers Festival Director Corrie Perkin for a discussion about The Country School Master: A Mystery in 88 Letters.

Kate’s new book came about while she was browsing through old family archives and discovered a pile of letters relating to 19th Century New South Wales schoolmaster Joseph Connor. The letters promoted further research and set fire to Kate’s curiosity: was Connor an abusive teacher or was he the victim of a small-town vendetta? The result is a brilliant piecing together of a colonial cold case by one of Australia’s finest writers.
