Sarah Walker

Sarah Walker is a Naarm/Melbourne-based writer and artist whose work explores anxiety, intimacy, and the body’s unpredictable nature. Her debut essay collection, The First Time I Thought I Was Dying, won the 2021 Quentin Bryce Award, and she received the 2025 Kill Your Darlings Creative Nonfiction Essay Prize. An award-winning photographer and fine artist, Sarah’s work has been commissioned internationally, spanning fiction, non-fiction, and visual arts.
