Erin Hortle is the author of two ocean-facing novels, The Octopus and I (2020), and A Catalogue of Love (2025) from Lutruwita/Tasmania. Her fiction and essays explore new ways of imagining the more-than-human world, with a distinctly feminist bent. Topics she writes about include surfing and surf culture, pelagic birds, octopuses, ambergris and kelp.
