When will tickets be available for 2026?
Late January 2026: Several Festival Highlights will be announced and tickets for those sessions will go on sale.
Late February / Early March: The full 2026 Festival Program will be released, and additional tickets will become available.
What are ‘Festival Eve’ events and how much do they cost?
Festival Eve’ events will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 22. Tickets to these events are $25 each.
How much are general admission tickets?
General admission tickets for the Festival are $35.
Are there Special Events, and how are they priced?
Yes. There will be more Special Events in 2026, and each will be priced individually.
Is there an Early Bird pass for 2026?
No, there will be no Early Bird passes in 2026.
Is there a Day or Weekend pass for 2026?
No, there will be no passes in 2026. For those wishing to attend multiple sessions we are offering a new bundle offer: 10% discount when you purchase 10 or more tickets.
What is the Early Access Window and how does it work?
In 2026 we made available an Early Access Window. The passes, which cost $300, have now sold out.
They included:
- 5 days early access window to the program when released, excluding our pre-released program highlights.
- A ticket to the Barry Jones Oration
- A ticket to Opening Night Drinks
- A ticket to Closing Night Drinks
The ticket bundle offer:
A new bundle offer provides a 10% discount when you purchase 10 or more general admission tickets in a single transaction.
- This offer does not include Special Events or Program Highlights.
- It can be used to purchase for a group, or for different sessions across the Festival weekend.
Will there be free sessions?
Yes. Across all four days of the Festival, there will be free admission sessions, including The Morning Feed and Writers on Writing.
Are tickets refundable?
All ticket sales are final. Please book with consideration. We do not offer refunds or exchanges unless required by law or as outlined in our terms and conditions: https://sorrentowritersfestival.com.au/policies/
Box office tickets:
If you prefer to purchase tickets in person, we will have a box office located on the Sorrento Main street over the month of April. You can also buy tickets across the Festival weekend ‘at the door’ if the session has seats available.
Venue and Program Changes:
At times, there may need to be programming and venue changes. The affected ticket holders will be contacted via email, and we will have a dedicated Program Change page on our website for your reference.
Speaking Engagements
Work has commenced on our 2026 program, and we have received dozens of submissions from Australia’s talented writing community.
We are unable to respond to each individual pitch, but if we have received an email from you we have filed your request to be involved and if there is an opportunity, we will be in touch. For now, thank you once again for your interest in our Festival, and we wish you ongoing success with your writing projects.

What is Sorrento on Tour?
During the year, we have a range of events happening across Melbourne and the Peninsula. All Sorrento Writers Festival supported events can be found on our What’s On page.
Please note that we don’t manage ticketing for all of our SOT events. If you are directed to another site to purchase tickets via our What’s On page, we cannot help with these tickets. You must follow the advice or links received in your confirmation of purchase emails.

There are many great accommodation options in and around Sorrento to stay.

Portsea Village Resort: a boutique complex of 21 apartments ideally positioned opposite the Portsea front beach and the historical Portsea Pier. The Resort facilities include two heated pools (one indoor), two spas, sauna, tennis and squash courts and gym.
